The learning process is a process of transferring knowledge from the teacher to the students. as we know that in a class consists of one teacher and several students, here there are very significant comparison between the number of teachers and students. Therefore in the process of teaching and learning, teachers need the media to help him in carrying out his duties as a teacher. In education a lot of media that is used with the aim to facilitate the learning process.

As human beings who live in an era of globalization, where technology is growing rapidly. as an educated person, we can not be indifferent to these developments. Technology in its development had a positive impact and also negative. One of the positive impact of technological developments, especially in the field of education, namely, technology, enables us to access the entire web that we want. Through web sites that we can find references for teaching materials and can be used as medium of learning for students.

In this age, the teachers use technology as a learning medium. they use technology as an aid in teaching and learning in the classroom. We can see that now many schools ask students to bring gadgets in the classroom, the gadget is used as a tool that helps the process of transferring knowledge from the teacher to the students. The teacher gives instructions through the media and quickly they will receive it via their gadget. You can imagine, how the class was going so great. Technology and Education is a good combination. The positive impact we can feel. This is very nice to introduce technology to them as early as possible, of course, with the supervision of teachers and parents.

Online Social Media Applications for Language Teaching & Learning

In this globalization era, it is better if we are using technology as media in teaching-learning process. It will be a new challenge for the teachers and also the students, they have to master and have good understanding or they must be expert in using  technology. Technology has big impacts to educational field. Through the technology, teaching-learning process to be more easy for the teacher. In this globalization era, it is better if we are using technology as media in teaching-learning process. Technology has big impacts to educational field. Through the technology, teaching-learning process to be more easy and simple.
The teachers use technology as a media to communicate with students. For example, teachers can hold no face-to-face classroom. Teachers use an online application of social media to provide instruction to students and include the tasks to be done by them, so the activities that are usually done in the classroom in this case , the activities are carried out through technology. It is very clear that the current technological developments are very helpful in education. Some online applications are often used social media to interact between teacher and students are:

1. Edmodo

The Edmodo network enables teachers to share content, distribute quizzes, assignments, and manage communication with students, colleagues, and parents. Edmodo launched Snapshot – a suite of assessment tools to measure student progress on educational standards. Edtech digest awarded Edmodo Snapshot the Cool Tool Award for Best Assessment Solution.

2. Edublog
Edublog is a blog created for educational purposes. Edublogs archive and support student and teacher learning by facilitating reflection, questioning by self and others, collaboration and by providing contexts for engaging in higher-order thinking. Edublogs proliferated when blogging architecture became more simplified and teachers perceived the instructional potential of blogs as an online resource. The use of blogs has become popular in education institutions including public schools and colleges. Blogs can be useful tools for sharing information and tips among co-workers, providing information for students, or keeping in contact with parents. Common examples include blogs written by or for teachers, blogs maintained for the purpose of classroom instruction, or blogs written about educational policy. Educators who blog are sometimes called edubloggers.

3. Moodle
Moodle (Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment) is a free open-source learning management system or e-Learning platform, that serves educators and learners across the globe. It is the most widely used LMS in the world and currently has over 68 million users world-wide and still growing. Moodle was developed in 2002 by Martin Dougiamas to help educators create online courses with a focus on interaction and collaborative construction of content. Since then, the main development of Moodle is led by Martin and the core team at Moodle Headquarters, as well as hundreds of other developers around the world who have helped fuel the growth of Moodle through contributing and testing code, and being active participants in community forums.

4. Animoto

In fact there are many more online social media apllications that can be used  in education . Technological developments and the developments will continue to support in the education field.

BLENDED LEARNING

Blended learning is generally applied to the practice of using both online and in-person learning experiences when teaching students. In a blended-learning course, for example, students might attend a class taught by a teacher in a traditional classroom setting, while also independently completing online components of the course outside of the classroom and also called hybrid learning and mixed-mode learning, blended-learning experiences may vary widely in design and execution from school to school.
Blended learning does not mean that computers in front of the student. Rather, blended learning is the intentional integration of online and in-person education to expand learning opportunities for students. As necessary as technology is, the real secret to effective blended instruction remains the same as any other classroom: It’s all about the people. Teachers and principals told us that the key to a successful blended learning program isn’t just in choosing software (although selecting excellent online content is criticalties. The role of the teacher is no longer one-size-fits-all, so recruitment and selection must adapt. The way we develop and evaluate teachers must reflect the shifts in what teachers are expected to do. In a blended context, teachers need to exhibit many of the same skills we would expect in a traditional school model. But there are a number of behaviors and skills that are heightened, like effective planning and collaboration with colleagues.
·

       The advantages of blended learning
  •  Less expensive to deliver, affordable and saves time.
  •  Flexibility in terms of availability- anytime anywhere. In other words, e-learning enables the  student to access the materials from anywhere at any time.
  •  Access to global resources and materials that meet students’ level of knowledge and interest.
  •  Self-pacing for slow or quick learners reduces stress and increases satisfaction and              retention.
  •  E-learning allows more affective interaction between the learners and their instructors      through the use of emails, discussion boards and chat room.
  •  Learners have the ability to track their progress.
  •  Learners can also learn through a variety of activities that apply to many different learning  styles that learners have.
  • It helps the learners develop knowledge of using the latest technologies and the Internet.
  • The e-learning could improve the quality of teaching and learning as it supports the face-to-face teaching approaches.

 The disadventages of blended learning:
  •  Lack of a firm framework to encourage students to learn.
  • A high level of self-discipline or self-direct is required, learners with low motivation or bad study habits may fall behind.
  • Absence of a learning atmosphere in e-learning systems.
  • The distance-learning format minimizes the level of contact, e-learning  lacks interpersonal and direct interaction among students and teachers.
  • When compared to the face-to-face learning, the learning process is less efficient.
  • The distance-learning format minimizes the level of contact, e-learning lacks interpersonal and direct interaction among students and teachers.
  • When compared to the face-to-face learning, the learning process is les efficient.

Global Education Network

Globalization provide enormous impact on life in this world, especially in technology. in this era of globalization rapidly evolving technologies in various sectors, such as economics, business, politics, culture, education, and so forth. because his role is so important, then the man was required to follow all the developments and changes that occur particularly in the field of technology. inevitably, people must follow in order to survive in today's era.

Technology, particularly in the education sector have a major impact. It is reminiscent of :
  • Ivan Illich forecast early '70s on "Education without school (Deschooling Society)" which suggests the existence of communities that conduct education without requiring a place called school. (Henry Wardiana; 2007).
  • Alisjahbana I. (1966) argued that the approach to education and training will be "At that moment (Just on Time). New teaching techniques will be two way, collaborative and inter-disciplinary.
  • Bishop G. (1989) predicted that the future of education will be supple (flexible), open, and accessible to anyone who requires without differentiating factor in the type, age, and previous education experience.

By exposure to these experts could conclude that technology has become a master of education. can not be denied that technology plays an important role in education, with the development of this technology and use it in education, access to studying easier and wide open. We are increasingly free to absorb knowledge from various scientific fields. The application of technology in education is also easier between students and teachers to interact, for example, the media used by teachers can not be separated from technology or is not primitive. Access to teachers and students to learn science in the world as there is no limit. Technology helps the students easly to leran all over the world. Therefore, the technology is very important in education. We as human beings who live in the era of globalization, Let's take advantage of it as much as possible. It should be noted that the technology does not always have a positive impact for us, but the technology in this era of globalization also had an adverse impact. As a well-educated people who let us study it again, that the use of technology, particularly in education also need to pay attention to certain limitations that global change is really beneficial for us.

Lead Me Come Back

It was shine so bright
I could feel you, it seemed so real
I nevigated, so long till I lost your bearings
You let go of my hand
Kept on my way and felt the dark so close to me
Hark my scream, but you won't
You got back, and I lose my grip, all alone
Please, lead me come back
I'm just tired...

SIKLUS
