1.The first step in writing English is
Pre-writing. In this step I plant what I am going to write. I choose a topic.
In my first writing in English I chose Semarang State University for my topic.
There are two methods. The first method is free writing and the second one is
brainstorming. Free writing means I wrote every idea in my head about SSU but
still make sure the truth of my statement or idea. Why I must make sure it?
Because the purpose of my writing is to give information to the reader.
So, I must give accurate date. I think
it is the easiest step.
2.Second step is drafting. In this step I tried to
write down my ideas in sentences and paragraphs. In the previous step I have
chose the topic and some ideas and I wrote in sentences and paragraphs. In this
step is mor difficult than the first step. I worried about grammar that I used
in my sentences, worried about punctuation.
3.The third step is revising. I n this step I began to edit my writing. I read again my
paragraphs. I checked my sentences in
every paragraphs. I made some changes. I reviewed, modified, and reorganized my draft
by rearranging, adding, or deleting content to improve my writing. I think this
is hard step, because I have to check my writing as good as possible with my
minimum acquaintance.
4. The fourth step is proofreading. Proofreading is
checking our writing by another people. Thanks for Dede who checked my writing,
it is very helpful. And I have to check my friend’s writing to. In this point I
have to proofread and correct errors in grammar, punctuation, spelling,
capitalization, and etc. I think it is the hardest step in writing. It is an
extremely detail process.
5.Next step is publishing. This is the last step
in writing. After my writing had checked by my friend, Dede. I have posted it
in my blog and I have entitled it, Semarang State University.
